Having been relegated in somewhat controversial circumstances last year, Dinas Powys PG2's got their 2015 season off to a fantastic start with a empathic 73 shot victory when they entertained Cardiff Athletic on Saturday 9th May.
Under the leadership of new Captain Chris Bates, a strong looking side took to the rinks in lovely sunshine, which continued to shine on the team as they dominated play from start to finish, playing some excellent bowls across all four rinks.
Dinas were delighted to welcome back Alan Hodges and he played his part in helping Peter Critcher's rink secure a 13 shot win.
Pride of place, and the 'diddler' prize, however went to Andre Desrorsiers rink, ably supported by Captain Bates at third, who won 16 of the 21 ends to romp home by a clear 30 shot margin.
If this early season form can be sustained it promises to be a very successful season.
