Penarth Rectory Road were the visitors to Dinas Powys for the season's second Munro Cup fixture on Wednesday 13th May 2015, with the hosts anticipating a tough match against a side who traditionally go well in this competition.
Warm sunny weather greeted both teams in what turned out to be a tight encounter, with Dinas eventually running out victors by nine shots, 72 to 63, collecting a very valuable 12 points in the process.
Ex Rectory Road players, Ritchie Janes and Mike Edwards, certainly enjoyed their evening, posting an excellent 23-10 win against Clive Fry's rink, while Alun Jones meanwhile recorded a 20-14 shot win, curiously being the exact same score as his opening day victory.
The points for Dinas were rounded off with Gerry White's rink, with Joe Coles and Ben Harris, combined age of 29, leading the way as they came home 17-15 against Colin Grant's visiting quartet.
The only blemish for Dinas, on an otherwise excellent night, was Club Captain Paul Marks' rink who went down 12-24 to a very experienced Penarth foursome.
After the match the Rodney Trotter 'Plonkers of week award' was presented to Richard Fear and Hector Lamont who, having set their sat nav for Penarth, found no-one at home in Rectory Road, arriving back in Dinas for their home fixture some 15 minutes after the start !!
