The midweek team entertained Llantwit Major on Wednesday 24th June and sadly their good early season form deserted them as they went down to a disappointing 26 shot, 59-85 defeat, collecting a single point in the process.
On the night three of the four rinks were closely contested. Chris Bates' rink went into the final end of their match holding a one shot lead, only to drop a four and fall to a three shot 12-15 reverse. Alun Jones' rink meanwhile dropped a disastrous seven on their rink, and despite a gallant fight back they just fell short losing 21-23.
Dinas welcomed back Gerry White after recent knee surgery, and his rink picked up their only point of the evening courtesy of a hard fought 18-18 draw against ex home team favourite Graeme Jones.
The match however was lost on Club Captain Paul Marks' rink. The usually reliable Marks was unable to stem the opposition tide and his rink were overwhelmed, falling to a heavy 8-29 shot defeat, on a night to quickly forget.
A stronger team will have to perform better next week, if they hope to maintain their challenge at the top end of the league table, when Penarth Windsor are the visitors.
