A lovely sunny evening on Monday 21st July saw Dinas host Cadoxton in the 2014 two rink, Alun Martin Memorial Cup, with the home side looking to build on their earlier victory away at Sully.

The rink of David James, Jon Ackland, Chris Scott and Paul Marks got off to a flying start, scoring a four on their opening end and by the half way stage of the game had moved into a strong position, leading 17-2.

Meanwhile, the second rink of Joe Coles, Andy Locker, Tim Hurcom and Ritchie Janes were in a tighter tussle during the opening exchanges of their game, before moving ahead 13-6 by the end of the 11th end.

Leading 30-8 overall at the midpoint, Dinas relaxed somewhat during a more even 2nd half of the game, before the match concluded with Marks rink completing their full 21 ends and winning 26-14, whilst Cadoxton conceded defeat at 20 ends on Janes' rink with the score on 20-12.

Two good rink wins mean Dinas now move forward to the semi final stage of the competition, where they will face Penarth Windsor, with the tie to be played on Sunday 10th August 2014 at a neutral venue.
