After finishing runners up in the league last season, the midweek Munro Cup Team's 2014 campaign has started in disappointing fashion with two narrow and agonising defeats.
The season got underway with a home fixture against Sully on Wednesday 23rd April with the match hotly contested throughout, with the result in the balance right to the end. At the ninth end, half way stage, there was little to choose between the teams, with two rinks all square and Sully holding a four shot (26-30) lead. After 16 ends Dinas had been able to narrow that gap to a mere one shot, with both sides scenting victory.
Unfortunately for the home side they couldn't find the final push to see them home and Sully held on to record a two shot 62-60 win.
Captain Paul Marks' rink led the way recording an 18-13 win, whilst on Gareth Griffiths' rink the lead changed hands six times before the sides eventually settled on a 13-13 tie as Dinas picked up 3 points.

Dinas then travelled to Rhoose on Wednesday 30th April and on their artificial outdoor surface again suffered a narrow defeat, this time going down to a six shot 57-63 reverse.
Again at the half way stage there was nothing between the sides with Rhoose holding a single shot lead at 30-29. As the game ebbed and flowed Dinas, with Gareth Griffiths' rink in good form, weren't able to get their noses in front and Rhoose were able to hold on for a final six shot victory.
