Saturday 17th August saw a 'double header' of fixtures against Whitchurch, with the PG1 team travelling away whilst the PG2 side hosted the same opponents.

In Whitchurch, an afternoon of persistent rain made conditions extremely difficult for all concerned, with Dinas eventually coming out on top, in a very closely fought game by three shots, to collect 10 points.

After the first five ends the match was all square and the same trend continued throughout, with the game eventually being decided on the final end of the last rink.

This win, the ninth from ten league fixtures, has extended the PG1's lead at the top of Division 2 and, with four fixtures to play, they remain well placed to earn a swift return to the top Division.

G.Parr, H.Meddins, R.Cowling, A.Meddins  (22-19)                                       D.James, C.Scott, D.Vowles, G.Griffiths  (12-21)                               D.Parker, T.Hurcom, C.Ackland, M.Ackland  (21-10)                                     C.Parsons, M.Edwards, C.Todd, R.Janes  (21-23)

Meanwhile in Dinas Powis the elements had an even more adverse effect on proceedings, with torrential rain halting play after 11 ends. Despite an early tea, and a chance to dry out, only a further four ends were able to be played before both team captains sensibly agreed to call a permanent halt to proceedings, with Dinas gaining just the two points.

After 15 ends only:
