Dinas Powis played host to Barry Plastics for their midweek Munro Cup fixture last Wednesday 3rd July & it needed a mighty 'final' flourish to see them finally seal victory in a closely fought tie.

Captain Paul Marks rink got off to a flying start roaring into a 12 shot lead, & after 7 ends each team held two rinks with Dinas narrowly 5 shots infront.

Barry Plastics then fought back strongly & over the next 7 ends took a firm grip on two rinks to go 18-5 & 17-5 infront respectively, overturn the deficit & go 7 shots ahead with victory in sight with just four ends to play.

Facing the prospect of a surprise home defeat Dinas however rallied & played superbly over the final four ends to net 23 shots. Gareth Griffiths' rink, recovered from 13 shots down to eventually narrowly lose by 3, John Porter's rink rescued 8 shots to cut their gap to 4 & Captain Marks led the way with a resounding 21 shot victory, which eventually saw Dinas home by 75 shots to 59 to collect 10 points.

Broadest smile of the evening was understandably worn by Captain Paul Marks !!.
