With the season rapidly drawing to a close, the PG1 team looked to consolidate their position at the top of the Division 2 league table, when they entertained Llanbradach on Saturday 24th August 2013. Having won the away fixture by a narrow five shots in early July, Dinas recognised 'The Brad' would be tough opponents, and so it proved to be.
Dinas started in purposeful fashion and, whilst each team shared two rinks, after seven ends they had established a three shot advantage. Over the middle seven ends Llanbradach began to get the upper hand, and despite Captain Ritchie Janes' rink holding a nine shot lead, Llanbradach were 'up' on three rinks and had nosed in front by two shots.
Llanbradach continued to exert pressure to extend their lead, such that by the completion of 18 ends they were eight shots in front, and held a stranglehold on the game. Staring defeat in the face Dinas had to respond, and as good teams do, they duly obliged. Over the last three ends they amassed 22 shots, whilst conceding only five, to turn the game on it's head and run out winners by nine shots.
With just three games of the season remaining, one against their nearest challengers for the title, Dinas are aware they need to keep a clear focus, if they are to achieve their goal of a swift return to Division 1.
