Dinas Powis Bowling Club Host the Welsh Elite Squad

Robert Weale, Wales reigning Commonwealth Singles Gold Medalist heads the line-up of 24 of the top men’s and ladies bowlers in Wales, as they start their specialist training for the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Dinas Powis over the weekend of 20th/21st April.
The Club will open its facilities throughout the weekend and all are welcome to come and watch Wales top bowlers in action.
Looking forward to the Whit holiday week, Dinas Powis once again hosts the Men’s Open Singles Championship of Wales. The tournament returns this year to its original date in the Calendar and is the seasons opener of singles competitions in Wales. Entry forms for the tournament are available from your local club and from the Dinas Powis Club.
The action starts on Friday 24th May and runs throughout the bank holiday week with the finals on Friday 31st May. Closing date for entries is Sunday 12th May.
The 2013 Season gets started on 12th April 2013.
On Friday 12th at 6.00pm the President, Hugh Meddins will bowl the inaugral bowls of the forthcoming season. Members will have an opportunity to pay fees and to take part in a few ends of bowls - weather permitting.
On Saturday 13th at 2.30pm there will be a mixed game of bowls for all comers - again weather permitting.
